You appreciate BIG hearts, genuine laughter, kind souls? Me too. Then you will love Steve and Jenni. For sure.
These two. Made me and my camera so happy. It was a pleasure to meet them. I am better person because I shook their hands. Saw their smile. Heard their perspective on life, people, and generosity. Their wedding? Next month! Cannot wait.
Jenni and Steve. Thank-you! You guys are awesomeness. Truly. :-)
Meet Jenni and Steve, friends.
This….is hair with gorgeous. Jenni…you are fabulous.
Steve is a musician.
One of my fave…
Glowy winter sunlight, meadow on the home farm, hot chocolate with a few marshmallow, a blanket for snuggling, and two people that are dreaming about the future and planning a wedding. Wintertime engagement session that makes me smile!
Meet Eddie and Jonelle….:)
Love the winter time details Jonelle added to their photo session…
Jonelle, you are gorgeous. You will be fabulous bride….can’t wait for your big day!
I love this week…the lull between Christmas and New Year. Most of our Christmas activities are over….but it is still the holidays! The boys have off school and are very occupied with the new toys:), we sleep in a little, organize the aftermath of the Christmas chaos, enjoy all the Christmas leftovers, sit by the wood-stove while winter happens (sleet storm:), catch up on pushed off projects, and am reminded again how so blessed I am.
Today I want to share an engagement session that makes me smile. Nathan and Abbey love Christmas and choose a tree farm as the location for their engagement session! Although it was frigid…these guys hung in there as we ran through the grass and trees.
Meet Abbey and Nathan! Here are a few of my faves…
Nathan and Abbey…thank-you for being so fabulous! I cannot wait until your wedding day.:)
In case you missed it….you still have a few days left to entered into the GIVEAWAY! It has been so fun hearing from you all. For details on the GIVEAWAY, go HERE!
Enjoy the rest of your week! :)
There is something about belonging. We need it. It is part of what we long for at our core. It is peace in the midst of turmoil. It is happiness during tears. It is beautiful. It is strength. It is a deep sigh….yes, this is good.
Ky and Justin…here is to you. Your gorgeous little girl. Your future. Here is to you and all you are. Thank-you for inviting me into your lives. You guys are BEAUTIFUL together.
Ky is a photographer…so we had to pull out a camera.:)
Charles and Marlise!
Downtown Princeton. Such a pretty town. Such a lovely couple. They exude a quiet confidence and peace that is so wonderful to be around. I walked away from this fun shoot so thankful for the amazing people I am able to meet because of my camera.
Charles and Marlise, thank-YOU. For inviting me to be part of your lives. You guys are fabulous.
Their pictures…tell their story. Capture their sweet love. Enjoy their images….
Vibrant. In love. Hardworking. Ready to take on the world. Comfy as a broken in sweatshirt. Ease. Peace. Plenty of laughter and a lot of determination. Big hearts overflowing with passion for those less fortunate. No too mention, quite creative.
Meet Nicola and David!
He is a web designer and she is an awesome PHOTOGRAPHER. If you ask me for baby photos…I will send you her way!
You know the big heart part? These two love birds are adopting their first child from Ethiopia. As Nicola and David describe it, they are on a journey to becoming a family waiting for their child, the missing piece to their hearts. These two have been working HARD raising money and taking the steps needed to adopt. The goal for this shoot was to capture this stage of their life…happy, in love, excited about the future, hopeful, and preparing for the little person that they already love.
This is them….their story. (Which by the way, I was quite honored to capture)…
Everything had meaning with this shoot! David sang ‘You are my Sunshine’ to Nicola when they were dating and Nicola plans to sing it to their children. Love that!
Nicola had a custom necklace made representing their adoption. The shape or Africa is cut out in the middle with a yellow bead which represents hope and sunshine.
One of my faves….I think it represents life, peace, together, and on a journey. :)
All things that are sweet….
Soft and new love. Muted fall time colors. A lovely lace dress and cowboy boots. Comfy flannel shirts. Genuine. A beautiful face and striking brown eyes. And kind hearts.
Charlotte and Buck, I consider myself quite blessed to have met you, photographed you, and enjoyed your sweet company. To say I am excited to be part of your day…would be an understatement. Here is to you….and all you are together.:) Much appreciation.
See? So beautiful!
I have wanted a sweater with a big heart on for a long time! Love this version Charlotte is wearing!
I couldn’t help myself…Charlotte’s eyes just sucked me in!
Sigh…Love this one:)
Did you hear?? Sarah and Daniel are getting married!
And I feel incredibly honored to be asked to be part of their day. You are gonna love them.
They just work together. Just kinda fit.
She has a smile that shines from deep inside. And a heart of gold to match. He is a gentle giant. ;) And has a heart of gold too, I believe.
They grew up around each other. Acquaintances. Just that. Then….college friends went ice skating on a winter break. And well, his tall dark handsome self swept her off her feet. She says, “His incredible blend of strength, humility, and kindness never ceases to amaze me. I can’t imagine life without him standing by my side, holding my hand. And did I mention, he gives the BEST hugs, ever??!”
Daniel? He noticed Sarah as a junior in high school. But she was beautiful and girls were scary. A ‘Hi’ was all he could muster as they passed in the hallways. Later in college, things turned to greatness when Daniel was planning a trip to Europe and got in touch with Sarah to ask her about her family in England…..AND to ask her about where she was in life. They stayed in touch and then went skating and you know what they say…the rest is history.;) These two just adore each other….what fun it was to see through the lens.
They prefer spending time together in simple ways. Packed turkey sandwiches and a walk the park. Finding a nice bench to sit on to people watch or talk for a while. Walking hand in hand.
They learned to love the city while Sarah lived there….our goal for the shoot was to capture simple, ease, time together, a day meandering in the city.
One of my favorites and a request of theirs. See, he really does give the best hugs. ;)
We met at Rittenhouse Square…had to buy flowers from a sidewalk vendor to use in a few photos.
Sarah and Daniel, thank-YOU. I cannot WAIT to be part of your day.
It is true…we both are going to be married to Andrews! Crazy. Crystal will always be my little sister…even when we both have grand-babies. She is ten years younger than me. Growing up…she truly was my little sister. Today, she still is my little sister but now a best friends too. She is getting married in one month! The countdown is on. Last week I sat down with her and we mapped map out a master To-Do list. So fun to see it coming together!
When Crystal and Andrew do something…they do it well. Thoroughly and completely. They are not afraid of a little hard work and always say…it is worth it! They have been rock climbing, cliff jumping, kayaking, cave exploring, sailing (that is where he asked her to marry him!), surfing, motorcycling cruising, campfires, and road tripping across the country. Together…they are drawn to adventure, want to explore the unknown, taste and see the world. They dream and have big dreams and have no room for playing it safe and living in boredom.;)
They planned their entire engagement. I seriously, had nothing to do with it. Crystal and Andrew decided they wanted their photos to capture fun and adventure. From there, they scouted locations and pulled together props. The bike they found randomly online on a used bike website, called the owner and asked if they could rent instead of buy. The owner was happy to drive the bike two hours to us, waited while we photographed the bike, and then took it home with him again. Lesson I learned? A little politeness, admiration of the other person’s goods:), and willingness to ask…you never know what somebody will do for you! The jeep was borrowed from a friend. The quilt is our mother’s quilt. And the other fun props were found as freebies, borrowed, or their very own. The shoot came together and I love the results!
Just for the fun of it!
Aaaah, pretty light and this setup made me so happy.
One of my faves…
Crystal and Andrew! Here is to many more adventures!!! :)
I love these guys!A
I have known Sam’s family for quite a while…and they are one of the kindest, most genuine families I know. I photographed Sam’s two sisters…Alex and Maggie’s, senior photos. I am honored to be part of a wedding day for this family. Having a family trust you and come back several times….in one of the biggest compliments ever. Seriously. OK…let me tell you a little about Sam and Danny. Danny is easy going and talkative and you can’t help but like him. A lot. Sam is a sweetheart. She is quiet, free spirited and loves the sunshine and the breeze in her hair.
“We both met as darling middle schoolers and discovered love at first sight. I, an obnoxious eighth grader, saw Sam for the first time. Even with her hair pulled tight in a ponytail, and an awkward sense of fashion, I was struck by cupid. We dated for about a week, and as most relationships in middle school go, we broke up. The timing was not right, but we would see that God had a plan for us in the future. Years go by and we always kept in touch, admiring each other from afar. Boyfriends and girlfriends came and went, but one thing remained constant…our adoration for each other. My big break came after my senior year of high school, when I was able to take her to a movie (She was finally available!) I took her to a horror movie to show her how “manly” I was, but to my surprise and dismay, I turned out to be the chicken. From that moment we have been inseparable. She has been the girl of my dreams since I was in eighth grade, and I constantly pinch myself just to assure myself that this is all for real. Every day shared with her is a blessing, and I cannot wait to make many, many more memories together.”A
“Danny, I would say can be loud at times, but in a fun-loving friendly mannered way! He likes to include humor in our relationship, which I think is one of his finest qualities. He ALWAYS makes me laugh no matter how hard I try to be serious. He is competitive by nature, which is opposite of me who does not have a competitive bone in my body. We both love hanging out with friends and family, playing golf with Buddy, and simply being together. We dream of traveling, experiencing many wonders of the world, having animals, hiking, kayaking, trail riding, and always being best friends!”
Danny, you are GOOD. You got the serious stare down and I am liking it!
Meet Buddy, folks!
Sam, Sam…you make me happy. So pretty!
The wedding date! Thanks Alex for getting these balloons to do what we wanted them to do!
Sam and Danny planned for their session to be on the horse farm with Sam’s horse.
Seriously Sam and Danny….cannot wait for your wedding day. Thank-YOU for being so awesome.
